Dubai Cut, a new fanciful form of diamond cutting, is intended for the Arab Emirates market and could have important implications for the wholesale diamond industry. As stated in the article:
A new fanciful form of diamond cutting was developed by specialists of Smolensk-based ‘Crystal’ jointly with ALROSA under a joint brand development program. This form is called ‘Dubai Cut’ and is intended for the Arab Emirates market. Crystal is planning to cut about 1,800 diamonds per annum using the new technology.
